Mount Glory and 2 days in Jackson Hole 3/25-27/2012

Published by at 6:36 PM under Skiing Trip Reports,Wyoming

With some unexpected time available over spring break I found myself searching for a destination. Snow in Colorado has been lacking of late so a road trip seemed to be in order. It seemed like most destinations on the hit list were lacking the needed snow but I figured Jackson was having a decent winter at least compared with Colorado. After skiing a really great day on Saturday with my son, I headed up the Tetons. I skied alone the first day and had a blast getting in way too much vert and skiing tons of nonstops on the tram. The next day I hooked up with some locals and Summit County expat George Castaleta. The weather was a bit cooler so the snow was way firmer. It was nice getting a tour from some locals. Such a fun mountain. Thank you Josh for the green pass,  never got to buy you that beer.

On the 27th me and George went up for a lap on Glory before he had to work. There was about4′ of new on top of crust. Not the best conditions but with the weather as nice as it was who can complain. It’s pretty easy to hatch plans with such great mountains all around, George I’ll see you in May for what we were talking about.

After Mt Glory it was back in the truck for the next leg of Spring Break. Off to Mount Baker and 40″ in the forecast. Enjoy the pics.
