I wrote down some thoughts for the good people over at Friends of Berthoud Pass. I really like the work they are doing with grassroots avalanche awareness. You can never know too much, and knowing too little can kill you.

With the lack of snow this year I focused not on the powder day or the goal of the summit but on the journey. I hope you like it. Let’s also hope that the weather patterns change and the powder days return.
