Mt Arkansas 13,795′ North Couloir 7/11/2011
Well after a little less than a week off I was feeling a bit better. I think 8 in a row and nearly 30,000 vert was a bit too much. Me and Jesse decided to hit up Arkansas’s North Couloir. This is a sweet line with easy access. We made decent time to the line and booted up it. There was an upper section of the line below the cornice that had melted out but there was still alot of good steep vert left so we went for it. I’ve already been to the top so we opted just to ski. It was a bit soft and disconcerting but we made do and got down safely. We even jumped a wind lip. There might be some step up potential for you park kids(see the 4th picture). I don’t think that will melt out for a while.
Jesse don’t forget “Ride the Lightning”(Metallica) “Smell the Thunder”
3 more days of routes left. I can almost taste it.
