Mt Sherman 14,036′ East Chute 6/29/2011

Published by at 4:25 PM under 14ers,Colorado,Skiing Trip Reports

Back in 95 I skied this line with a friend and employee. It was really fun but we didn’t bring a camera with us that day. I’m also not too sure about the access that we used to get to it. Anyway I needed to get back for some shots and it seemed like a reasonable solo line. Fun day for sure. With temps in the 40s at night again this would be my only line for the day. Just have to get what the mountain will allow.

Looking east from the summit

The entrance to the steepest chute right below my tips

After a 40' downclimb this is looking down the line

Soft and sluffy conditions had me taking my time for the 1st part

Looking down at midway

Looking back at the line

A side view shows the steepness. 50° at the steepest.

Other options on that side of the mountain
